Federal Government Releases Initiatives To Help Alberta’s Economy Grow

The federal government is looking to help Alberta’s economy grow through multiple initiatives.

Minister of Natural Resources Amarjeet Sohi announced on Friday their plans to help create jobs across the province and keeping Canada competitive on the global market.

Their priorities include emerging and transforming resource sectors, improving export access, strengthening education opportunities for future workers, and helping communities become more innovative.

“We are ensuring that our industries remain competitive, and we will continue to support development, innovation, and growth across our sectors,” said Sohi. “This approach, identified in Grow West, ensures we will build a broader and more prosperous future for generations to come.”

These ideas are a part of the government’s ‘Western Economic Diversification Canada’ plan which was allocated $100 million over the next three years.

The federal government notes they have an opportunity to help spur growth in other sectors.
