Keyano Trade Student Joins Rare Group With Perfect Score on Industry Training Test

A trade student at Keyano College is celebrating a feat that’s rarely be done across the province.

Third year electrical apprentice Darvi Higdon took her Apprenticeship and Industry Training board test back in March.

It consists of 100 questions and needs a score of at least 70 per cent to pass.

Higdon scored 100 per cent, becoming the first person in Keyano’s history to get a perfect score. According to instructors, it’s rarely been done across the province.

“My instructors have been first-rate, and they are always willing to explain things and offer extra help when needed,” said Higdon, in a release. “I can’t say enough good about them.”

In previous tests, she scored around 90 per cent.

Higdon plans to return to Keyano in September for her fourth electrical apprenticeship studies. Next year, she’ll get the chance to take the provincial board test.

She adds the ‘pressure is on’ to match her score from this year.
