Rogers Hometown Hockey is returning to our region this November.
Sportsnet announced its 2019-2020 25-community cross-Canada tour on Tuesday, with Wood Buffalo being chosen as one of the stops.
“We are excited to welcome Rogers Hometown Hockey back to Wood Buffalo and to celebrate our love of Canada’s national winter sport with all Canadians,” said Mayor Don Scott. “This event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our communities and spirit while offering residents a weekend of unforgettable experiences and festivities.”
The event takes place from November 23-24 and will feature live entertainment, NHL alumni autograph signings and meet and greets, and games.
Included in the two days of festivities will be a live pre-game and NHL broadcast with Ron MacLean and Tara Slone on the 24th, which will coincide with the Edmonton Oilers vs. Phoenix Coyotes game.
Fort McMurray first hosted this event in November 2014.
More information on festivities will be released on the RMWB’s social media channels.
