The United Way of Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo is naming their new Executive Director.
Timothy Troy was announced as the new ED on Wednesday, replacing Cecilia Mutch who’s leaving the organization after leading it since after the Horse River wildfire.
“Timothy brings a unique set of skills and talent that are critical as we face our current and future challenges in the Wood Buffalo region,” said Steve Yatauro, United Way Board President, in a release.
Troy, who’s in the process of moving to the region, brings with him a lot of experience in executive management including finance, human resources, government relations, administrative operations, and more.
In his 16 years of experience, he has held various titles such as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Corporate Services, and most recently as Chief Executive Officer of an integrated, multi-divisional construction and transportation group that operates across the country.
“I’m excited to build on the outstanding work of Cecilia Mutch. She has been an excellent leader and the agency has benefited tremendously,” added Troy.
“The critical role of the United Way, and social profits more generally, in building a healthy, dynamic, resilient and sustainable community cannot be overstated.”
Troy’s announcement comes during the United Way’s community campaign. Donations can be made in person or through their website.
