Premier Jason Kenney is traveling to Texas this week to promote the Alberta oilsands.
He’ll be in Houston and Dallas where he plans on speaking with investors and business leaders about reaffirming ‘Alberta’s position’ when it comes to being a critical supplier to the State and the entire country.
Kenney recently visited Ohio and New York back in September.
“Our top goal is getting Alberta back to work. That means restoring investor confidence and reversing the flow of money, ideas and businesses from Alberta to places like Texas,” said Kenney, in a release.
“This trip will allow me to raise awareness among prospective investors about our growth strategy, including the Job Creation Tax Cut, Red Tape Reduction, and recent decisions like special production allowances to permit more Alberta energy to reach U.S. markets.”
Texas is Alberta’s second biggest export market. In 2018, the province’s exports to the State totaled around $11.5 billion.
The Premier will arrive in Houston on Monday before traveling to Dallas on Thursday.
The estimated cost for the four-day trip is expected to be around $32,000.
