Salvation Army In Dire Need Of Volunteers For Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army of Fort McMurray is in need of volunteers for their Christmas Kettle Campaign.

The organization kicked off their campaign last week, announcing a goal of $200,000 to help families and individuals in need.

To help raise those funds, volunteers are needed to collect donations at all their locations across Wood Buffalo.

Major Stephen Hibbs tells Mix News they appreciate any amount of time people can offer.

“They can do two hour shifts or if they have the time they can certainly go four hours or six hours.”

Every dollar collected is needed for the organization. The funds will be used for their programs in 2020 and they are expecting an influx in clients with Marshall House closing its doors at the end of January.

Hibbs says the more people helping out will help them get closer to their goal.

“They can do it just as an individual, they can do it as a family, or they can do it as a company – either way, it will be greatly appreciated.”

To volunteer, you’re encouraged to contact the Salvation Army.
