Environment Canada is issuing an extreme cold warning for Fort McMurray and surrounding areas.

The weather agency says the windchill is expected to make it feel like -40 overnight, again freezing up tomorrow night.

The temperature is expected to slightly increase during the daytime hours over the next couple of days.

Environment Canada is also forecasting very cool temperatures for much of next week as well.

If you do go outside, frostbite and hypothermia are a strong possibility if you stay out for a long period of time and you’re not properly covered up.
