The weight limits to the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road are being reduced to 5,000 kilograms during the day starting on Saturday. 

This is in large part due to the warm weather moving in for the next few days. Heavy vehicles up to 27,500 kilograms can still use the winter road from 9:00 PM until 9:00 AM when the temperatures drop, but those on the winter road during the day time will be fined.

Vehicles below the 5,000 kilogram limit can use the winter road during the day if necessary. All drivers are reminded to obey all detour signs and avoid closed-off routes.
