Some controversy at RWMB council, as Councillors voted in favour of becoming full-time. 

The decision, made after a 6-3 vote in favour, came after a heated debate during Tuesday’s council meeting. The motion was presented without any public notice before the meeting. 

It is not known how the decision to become a full-time council will impact salaries, benefits, or travel allowances. 

Harvard Media News has reached out to the RMWB, as well as Councillor Kendrick Cardinal, for comment on the matter. 

Fort McMurray local Facebook pages saw posts from several residents upset about the motion.
