Wood Buffalo RCMP Investigate Pair of Break-ins South of Fort McMurray

FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta— Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating two break-and-enters that occurred south of Fort McMurray on September 7, both near Highway 881.

The first incident took place between 2 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. at a work site approximately 76 kilometers south of Fort McMurray. One or more suspects broke into a trailer and a sea-can, stealing several items, including computer monitors, printers, a generator, and a chainsaw. Also stolen from the site were a 2013 Polaris Razor 800 and a bright green 1985 Suzuki Samurai with a Mercedes Benz logo on the front grill.

The second break-in occurred later that morning between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., about 128 kilometers south of Fort McMurray. A 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was broken into, and personal belongings were taken. The thieves also made off with a red 2023 Honda TRX 520 ATV, marked with a sticker reading “Unit 4066.”
