Living way up here in the north, it can sometimes feel like we’re missing out on the fun that goes on across the province. You know, like when Edmonton gets all the big concerts or when Calgary gets their festivals. But right now? Maybe we should be grateful for the distance.

Why, you ask? Well, the City of Edmonton has officially opened voting for its new official bird. Yes, you read that right. It’s like their version of the Super Bowl, except with feathers.

Don’t get me wrong—we’ve had our own moments of excitement here in Fort McMurray. Like when escape rooms and bowling alleys finally opened up! But at least we can take comfort in knowing that we’re keeping ourselves entertained without resorting to a full-blown bird election.
