Zamboni Driver Gets A Penalty… For A DUI

As someone who’s spent countless hours at Centerfire Place watching Oil Barons games, I’ve seen my share of hockey penalties. But one man might have just created a new one. In Ottawa, a 25-year-old Zamboni operator was arrested for DUI while resurfacing the ice after a game.

Is this a first? Maybe! Alberta once had someone drive a Zamboni through a Tim Hortons drive-thru, in a move so Canadian it deserves its own Heritage Moment.

But this situation raises some serious questions. Who pulled him over? Do the cops have a special Zamboni ghost car? And, more importantly, does this warrant a 2-minute or a 4-minute penalty?
