Massive Haul of Stolen Property Near Lac La Biche Leads to Multiple Charges

LAC LA BICHE, Alberta — A northern Alberta man is facing 15 charges after Lac La Biche RCMP recovered nearly $1 million worth of stolen vehicles and other property during a search earlier this month.

The investigation began on November 8, when police in the hamlet, located about 200 kilometres south of Fort McMurray, received a report of a man allegedly pointing a firearm at someone while driving. The incident led RCMP to obtain a search warrant for a property on the nearby Heart Lake First Nation.

When officers executed the warrant, they uncovered a trove of stolen property, including more than 30 vehicles with an estimated total value of nearly $1 million.

Joshua Ladouceur, a 35-year-old resident of Heart Lake, is facing multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, numerous firearms offences, and five counts of possession of stolen property valued over $5,000.

Ladouceur is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice on December 16.
