No On-Street Parking Restrictions in Snow Zones This Week, RM Announces

FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. — Residents won’t need to worry about on-street parking restrictions in Winter Maintenance Subzones this week, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) announced. The municipality plans to resume activating Winter Maintenance Zones (WMZs) on January 6.

However, some snow removal work continues as crews focus on clearing primary, secondary, and tertiary routes, as well as school zones while students are on holiday break.

Temporary no-parking signs will be placed 24 hours in advance at locations scheduled for snow removal. Once the 24-hour notice period has passed, parking restrictions will be enforced, and vehicles must be removed until the signs are taken down.
