It’s been ONE WEEK since I fostered Ace and he’s doing AMAZING!
(Not me trying to sing that sentence like “One Week” by Barenaked Ladies LOL)
I was really nervous because I didn’t know how he would react to the cats, and vise versa.
The first couple of days, Ace seemed to be more scared of the cats than they did of him. One week later, the cats are still MOSTLY hanging out in my bedroom, but they have slowly been coming out to scope out the situation –
Tigger (who is SUPER timid) actually went up to Ace and smelled his feet ????? Weird foot fetish but okay…it’s progress!
Ace is really good at listening, and good at commands too! He sits, shakes a paw (and then the other one), and stays when I need him to (especially when it comes time to feeding the cats)
One thing about Ace (and most other dogs) is that you CANNOT leave food on the coffee table or kitchen counters because HE WILL eat it, like my bacon cheese burger I left on my coffee table for like 2 minutes. GONE like the damn wind!
When we go for walks, it’s more like Ace walks me and not the other way around! He LOVES seeing people while we are out and about, and he does this thing where his entire body jumps up in the air because he’s so excited. He also discovered seeing his face in the ice and FREAKS out, and tries to dig himself out of it!
His favorite toy is Mr. Duck and he almost ALWAYS has it with him.
Stay tuned for more pupdates!
And if you can, please consider fostering or adopting a pet from the Fort McMurray SPCA!
