RMWB Investigating Abandoned Cat Case, Reminds Owners of Pet Responsibility

RMWB Bylaw Services is reminding pet owners that ditching an animal is never okay. On January 30th, someone left a cat in a carrier at a Parsons Creek apartment building. Animal Control took it to the Fort McMurray SPCA, and Bylaw Services is now investigating. Bylaw Services Manager Aaron Anderson says pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, and if you’re struggling, there are rescues and humane societies that can help. Also, abandoning an animal isn’t just cruel—it’s illegal under Alberta’s Animal Protection Act. If you know anything about this case, call Pulse at 780-743-7000.
