RCMP Investigate Home Invasion in Fort McMurray
FORT MCMURRAY – Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a home invasion that left two people injured in the Timberlea neighborhood earlier this week.
On February 11, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., RCMP officers conducted a wellness check at a residence in Building 2 of the 200 block of Lougheed Drive. Upon arrival, police noticed damage to the unit’s front door suggesting a break-and-enter. Officers continued their investigation and quickly made contact with the unit’s occupants.
After speaking with the residents, police learned an alleged home invasion took place the night before, between 11:00 p.m. and midnight on February 10. RCMP say two masked men allegedly forced their way into the home, where multiple residents were present. One of the occupants confronted the suspects, leading to an altercation before the intruders fled the scene. Two residents sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the encounter.
Police are now asking the public to help identify the intruders.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately six feet (180 cm) tall, with blue eyes. He was wearing a green sweater, black pants, and a white face covering at the time of the incident. The second suspect is also described as a Caucasian male, approximately six feet (180 cm) tall. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black hat with white details, and a black face covering.
RCMP have obtained surveillance footage of the suspects and continue to investigate with the assistance of the Wood Buffalo RCMP General Investigations Section. Authorities believe this was not a random act.
