Four people from Fort McMurray are facing a list of charges, after police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle.
Tuesday afternoon patrolling officers spotted a red GMC Acadia speeding from the downtown area. Police tried to stop the vehicle on Thickwood Drive. The vehicle kept going onto Timberline Drive, and then onto Gladstone Drive. RCMP Dog Services arrived and blocked the vehicle in.
According to police the red Acadia tried to get away by reversing into police, but the tactic didn’t work and police pulled six people out of the car.
Inside the car police found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a pellet style handgun and body armour.
Four people in all were charged with various weapons offenses, and all have made court appearances in Fort McMurray today.
