RMWB Launches 2025 Municipal Census With “Make it Count” Campaign
FORT MCMURRAY, AB – The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) officially launched its 2025 municipal census today, urging residents to participate in the “Make it Count” campaign to ensure accurate population data for community planning and funding.
The Municipality says an accurate count is critical for infrastructure improvements and services, adding that each resident counted generates approximately $200 in government funding for the region.
“Census data serves as a foundation for developing key indicators and growth projections, enabling better planning of programs and services for residents while also enhancing the region’s appeal to potential investors,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman.
Residents will receive a PIN letter by mail to complete the census online at rmwb.ca/census, a process taking roughly five minutes. For those without internet access, enumerators in RMWB-branded attire will begin door-to-door visits in rural areas April 1 and urban areas April 20.
Alternative options include phone completion via Pulse at 780-743-7000 (toll-free 1-800-973-9663) or in-person at pop-up stations during events like the Fort McMurray Spring Tradeshow. Participants may also win prizes.
