A suspect is dealing with serious injuries after they were shot by an RCMP officer in Fort McMurray last night. 

Officers were called to a disturbance on Siltstone Place in Timberlea just after 5:30 when a suspect attacked one of the officers, resulting in the suspect being shot. 

While the suspect was taken to hospital, the officer in question sustained minor injuries. 

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has been called in to investigate.
