One of our region’s finest has received one of the highest honours in the country.
Nicole Bourque-Bouchier was named to the Order of Canada Wednesday in a special ceremony on Parliament Hill.
Bourque-Bouchier – a member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation – is the CEO and Co-Owner of the Bouchier Group, recognized as one of the best employers in Western Canada.
On top of her professional life, she has served on countless boards and committees in our region. She continues that work today, as she sits on the Keyano College Board of Governors while co-chairing the Pacesetting and Leadership Committee for the Northern Lights Regional Health Foundation and is also a member of the Alberta First Nation Women’s Economic Security Council.
Bourque-Bouchier joins the likes of actor Ryan Reynolds, sports broadcaster and recovery advocate Scott Oake and author Maureen Ann Jennings as one of this year’s appointees.
