Regional Emergency Services crews responded to a house fire on Diefenbaker Drive just after 4 a.m. Wednesday. Two pumper crews and a ladder truck arrived to find an upstairs bedroom on fire. The residents had already escaped, and smoke alarms were sounding throughout the home. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, staying on scene until 5:30 a.m. The blaze caused major damage to the bedroom and closet, with smoke and water damage throughout the house. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
