NAABA Indigenous Business Summit Returns with Keynote Speaker Calvin Helin

FORT MCMURRAY, AB. – The Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) is set to host its 18th Annual Indigenous Business Summit on March 26 and 27, 2025, at Shell Place. The event will feature networking sessions, a trade show, educational panels, and an Indigenous artisan market.

NAABA is bringing in renowned writer and advocate, Chris Helin as the keynote speaker. The bestselling author, lawyer, and entrepreneur is known for his work on economic independence and self-reliance. Helin has inspired Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities through books like Dances with Dependency and The Economic Dependency Trap. “His insights into self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and Indigenous economic empowerment align perfectly with NAABA’s mission,” said NAABA Board Chair Sandy Sanderson.

NAABA Executive Director Michelle Toner emphasized the summit’s impact on Indigenous business growth. “This event is more than just a gathering—it’s a catalyst for collaboration and growth,” she said. The program has been revitalized with a fresh brand and an expanded lineup, including a corporate breakfast featuring Helin’s keynote address.

Tickets are available through the NAABA website.
