All Winter Maintenance Zones Relaxed March 3-7

RMWB Relaxes Winter Parking Restrictions in All Subzones

FORT MCMURRAY, AB. — In a promising sign that spring may be on the horizon, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has announced the relaxation of all Winter Maintenance Zones (WMZs) this week of March 3 – 7. For the first time since early November, residents will no longer face on-street parking restrictions on residential streets on their designated day for winter maintenance, except in areas where temporary no-parking signs are posted for specific scheduled snow clearing.

While the relaxation applies to residential streets, crews will continue clearing snow on primary, secondary, and tertiary roads that have seen recent accumulation. Temporary no-parking signs will be placed 24 hours in advance in areas where snow removal is planned. Once the signs are up, vehicles must be removed from the street until the work is completed and the signs are taken down.
