Former Fort McMurray Resident Looking To Own Canada’s Best Washroom

Canada’s best washroom could be as close as Lac La Biche.

The Beaverhill Shell Gas Station, run by former Fort McMurray resident Mo Kabalan, is one of five finalists in Cintas’ Canada’s Best Restroom Contest.

The Beaverhill loo is up against washrooms in Toronto, Quebec City, and two in Vancouver.

Kabalan tells Mix News they didn’t want to be known as another gas station with a less than par restroom.

“I always have to skip a bunch of towns when I need to use the bathroom because ‘don’t stop there they have a crappy bathroom or don’t stop there, can’t go to the bathroom there.’”

Their washroom is all customized.

Kabalan says they went above and beyond to make sure their customers were comfortable.

“We got all of our tile exported from Italy, it’s all custom-made – we’ve got change rooms and everything.”

The winner will get $2,500 from Cintas to help maintain their top-of-the-line washroom.

You can vote until August 16 at bestrestroom.ca.
