NEB Outlines Next Steps For Trans Mountain Before Construction Can Restart

Construction on the Trans Mountain pipeline is one step closer to restarting.

The National Energy Board is keeping its previous policies and orders for the project which outlines what needs to be done before work can happen again.

The federal government re-approved the project last month after the Federal Court of Appeal dismissed the project last August.

Moving forward, Trans Mountain must re-send notices to landowners along the entire route, publish ads in local newspapers, and notify potentially affected Indigenous peoples.

Affected landowners and Indigenous groups who have concerns with the project can still file a Statement of Opposition.

Meanwhile, there’s still no date for when construction can restart on the multi-billion project.
