Man Arrested After “Targeted” Armed Robbery In Timberlea

A 27-year-old Fort McMurray man is in custody following an armed robbery last week.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to reports of a break and enter in the Timberlea area last Thursday, August 1, around 11:10 a.m.

The Mounties say the man broke into the home, used a firearm to assault an individual, and proceeded to rob them.

The victim called 911 after the suspect left and was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

An RCMP spokesperson tells Mix News this was a targeted break and enter and there is no concern for public safety.

Adam Ross now faces a number of charges including;

  • Break & Enter to a residence
  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to order
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance

Ross remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on August 19.
