You’ll soon be able to fly over the U.S. border from the Fort McMurray International Airport.
The Fort McMurray Airport Authority announced on Thursday they will be offering a new charter service to Harrah’s Laughlin, a fully owned Caesars Entertainment hotel and casino in Nevada along the Colorado River.
“This is a significant step for our organization and the community,” said RJ Steenstra, President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority, in a release.
“The new service is an important step towards increasing activity at the airport and meeting local demand.”
This is the first time in four-years the airport will be able to offer flights to the United States.
The charter is expected to depart Wednesday and come back on Sunday during the winter months.
Travel packages will include a flight, four nights at Harrah’s Laughlin, luggage handling, transportation to and from the Bullhead City/Laughlin International Airport and free parking at YMM.
“New air service at YMM supports greater connectivity to and from Wood Buffalo, and enhances community liveability, all of which contribute to attracting new businesses, visitors and future residents,” added Kevin Weidlich, President and CEO of the Wood Buffalo Economic Development Corporation.
The flights will be operated by Sun Country Airlines.
