The Northern Lights Health Foundation is once again being recognized on an National stage.

The non-profit announced on Tuesday they’ve been re-accredited under Imagine Canada’s National Standards Program.

The status is given to charities that are committed to the highest level of integrity, efficiency, and transparency in their practices.

The program helps groups focus on strengthen practices in five areas: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management, and volunteer involvement.

“The Health Foundation Board takes great pride in knowing that our staff and Board team are operating at the highest level – with personal and professional accountability for our decisions and actions,” said Melanie Antoine, NLHF Board Chair, in a release.

The organization first received their status from Imagine Canada back in 2014.

The recognition is given over a five year period with each non-profit being reviewed every year.

“The accreditation, which is designed to build Canadians’ trust and confidence in the sector, is awarded upon successful completion of a rigorous, in-depth application process,” added Bruce MacDonald, President and CEO of Imagine Canada.

The NLHF status will be up for renewal in 2024.
