One of the most talked about moments in Canada over the past decade was the Fort McMurray wildfire.

As we get closer to saying goodbye to the 2010’s, Google Canada is highlighting their top 10 trending moments from the past 10 years.

The Horse River wildfire came in ninth joining such moments as the Tragically Hips’s final concert, the Toronto Raptors Championship, and the Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash.

Google notes Fort McMurray was top 5 in both news coverage and most searched back in 2016.

The search engine adds the wildfire reached peak popularity in May 2016 and continued to be a highly searched item over the next couple of months.

Rounding out the top 10 list was Bianca Andreescu, Drake, Justin Bieber, Chris Hadfield, Syrian Refugees, and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
