You won’t be able to park on your residential street for one day a week moving forward.
The municipality is activating their ‘Winter Maintenance Zone’ program on Monday after being relaxed for the past couple of months.
They’ll be running for the week before the RMWB will decide whether to keep them active or to relax.
The focus of the program is to give road crews an easier time when clearing streets with snow on them.
When they are activated, on-street parking won’t be allowed from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
People who continue to park on the roads could be fined or have their vehicle towed.
Each WMZ is split into four subzones. Depending on the amount of snow, the municipality could relax the entire zone or a specific subzone.
To find out what zone and subzone you’re in, you can go to rmwb.ca/snowplow.
Meanwhile, the municipality is also launching a WMZ progress map that will update on which areas have been worked on.
