The La Loche Winter Trail is officially opened.

It officially opened on Thursday with a load limit of 27,500 kg or less.

People with vehicles weighing more are asked to stay off the trail until conditions improve. These vehicles could damage the road, causing safety hazards, if driven on.

The municipality advises drivers to use a 4×4, high-clearance vehicle.

Crews also continue to work on the trail. When passing equipment, you’re asked to reduce your speed to 30 km/ h.

Also, there are no regular services like road patrol, gas stations or cell phone coverage.
