ATV Riders Traveling To Yellowknife In Attempt To Raise Funds For Soup Kitchen

Two men will be driving from Fort McMurray to Yellowknife looking to raise funds for the NorthLife Fellowship Baptist Church.

Ken Krahn and Hans Zundel will be riding their ATV’s as part of their ‘Ride For Soup’ – a fundraising effort for the Church’s soup kitchen.

The kitchen has been around for over 20 years helping the less fortunate by giving them a hot meal.

Krahn tells Mix News the Church’s actions don’t get the attention it deserves.

“It feeds them, there’s a lot of other people they feed and you go there and get a meal no questions asked.”

This will be the 13th time the ride has taken place. In total, they’ve been able to raise over $100,000.

In previous years, they would travel to Hay River looking to raise funds for the Centre of Hope.

This year they’re traveling to Yellowknife in an attempt to raise $10,000.

“We figure if we go farther we should get more money,” joked Krahn.

The duo, along with three support vehicles, will start their journey on Tuesday before returning on Sunday.

People interested in donating can reach out to the NorthLife Fellowship Baptist Church.
