Wood Buffalo RCMP has made a pair of drug busts in Fort McMurray that have resulted in three people facing charges.
On May 10 at about 4:30 AM, RCMP conducted a stop on Thickwood Boulevard. After a search of the vehicle, police located over an ounce of fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia.
Two suspects were arrested in this incident. 38-year-old Dustin McClure and an unnamed 37-year-old woman are both facing possession of controlled substance charges, while McClure also faces four counts of failure to comply with a release order.
Later that day, at about 2:45 PM, the RCMP executed a search warrant in the Timberlea area, locating over an ounce of what is believed to be cocaine, over $11,000 in cash, a firearm, and other drug paraphernalia.
An unnamed 22-year-old man from Fort McMurray was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
RCMP does not believe these incidents are related.
