A “Day of Caring” Set for the victims of the wildfires in and around Jasper.

The devastation in Jasper and the surrounding area is incredible.

An area that thrives on tourism, especially in the summer is now faced with the long prospect of recovery, and rebuilding.

On Wednesday, radio stations in both Alberta and Saskatchewan will be staging a “Day of Caring” for Jasper, where people will be asked to donate to help the victims recover from this wildfire.

Wednesday, there is also a provincewide “bottle drive”, where Albertans will be asked to say “This is for Jasper” when dropping bottles off at the local recycler. The money from the bottle deposits will be donated to the Red Cross.

You can donate by going to AlbertaDayofCaring.com to make a donation.” That website is taking donations as of today. 

The government of Alberta, and the Federal government will be matching all donations dollar for dollar”. That means every dollar you donate is actually three dollars.

You can also use your smart phone to make a donation by texting the keyword “RADIO” to 20222, it will make an automatic ten dollar donation on your behalf.

Harvard Media, and its radio and digital outlets in both provinces will be taking part in the “Day of Caring for Jasper” on Wednesday.
