Over 1,000 grams of cocaine, a firearm, and several thousands of dollars in cash were seized as part of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s investigation that took place last week in Fort McMurray.

Three separate search warrants were executed by ALERT with the help of Wood Buffalo RCMP, leading to over $100,000 worth of drugs being seized.

ALERT says they have also arrested 51-year-old Jeffery Caines, a known drug trafficking suspect who has prior convictions in 2011 and 2020.

Caines, along with 39-year-old Crystal MacLellan, are both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

ALERT says several other suspects have been identified, and future arrests and charges are currently pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
